Change Individual Student Settings

As teachers, you strive to differentiate instruction for the diverse skill levels of students in your classes, especially those who require accommodations through their IEP (Individualized Education Plan) or 504 plans. Typing.com allows you to support your students by adjusting individual settings to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Let’s explore how to customize settings for individual students to ensure their academic success!

  • This feature allows you to set individual student settings that differ from the overall class settings.
  • Always check the student’s settings first if you’ve made changes to both the class and the student settings.

Step 1: Log in to your Teacher Portal HERE.

Step 2: Click on “Classes.”

Step 3: Choose the class containing the student whose settings you want to change.

Pro-tip: Use the search bar at the top of the page and type the student’s name to quickly locate them.

Step 4: Inside the class page, click on the 'Students' tab to access the class roster.

Step 5: Hover over the student's name to highlight it and click on the 'Edit Icon' (pencil symbol) on the right-hand side.

Step 6: pop-up window will appear with the student settings. Here you can explore and change various settings to accommodate your students, including games, lessons, grading, goals, and other advanced settings.

Step 7: Make the necessary changes and click 'Save All Changes.'


Quick Tip for On-the-Spot Adjustments

When you’re already on a student’s profile and notice they could use an adjustment, you can change the settings directly from their profile. Click on the gear icon to the right of their name for an efficient way to make changes while analyzing their progress.
