Understand the "Lessons" Tab (Student)

If this is your first time learning to type, we recommend starting at the Beginner level. However, if you already have some experience, you can choose a higher level at any time.  You can even change the curriculum you are using. To change the curriculum, follow these steps here.

Let’s get started.

Log in to your account here.

On the left side, you will find four different sections to select lessons from:

  • Typing Lessons
    • Beginner
    • Intermediate
    • Advanced
    • Custom Lessons (optional: available when linked to a teacher's account)
  • Digital Literacy
    • Tech Readiness
    • Career Prep
  • Coding
    • Coding Essentials
  • Typing Practice
    • Reinforcement
    • Stories
    • Your Problem Keys

Statistics & Daily Goal: On the top part you can see your statistics for typing time and adjust your daily goal.

  • Change Stats: You can easily change the view of your stats by clicking the drop-down menu labeled "All Time." Choose from the options of ""All Time," "Today," "Yesterday," "Last 7 Days," or "Last 30 Days."

  • Change Daily Goal: You can also change and update your daily typing goal by clicking on the gear icon located inside "Daily Goal."

Select the length of time from the drop-down menu and click "Update Goal" to save the changes.

Pro-Tip: If you encounter difficulty changing your daily goal, it likely indicates that your account is linked to a teacher's account. In this case, you'll need to reach out to your teacher to modify your daily goal time. Alternatively, you can request your teacher to remove you from the class, allowing you to adjust your daily goal independently.

Class Scoreboard: If you're part of a class and wish to check the Class Scoreboard, you can click the button on the dashboard below your typing stats.

Once you’re inside the Class Scoreboard page, you can filter the results by Fastest or Most Active.

Pro-Tip: The Class Scoreboard shows the current week's activity. Scores reset every Sunday evening.

Teachers can disable the Scoreboard. Therefore, if you are part of a class and don’t see the Class Scoreboard link below your stats, that's because your teacher disabled it for the class.
