Onboarding Document for District Admins

Districts: Integration Options

  • Standard username and password
  • Clever integration
  • ClassLink integration
  • Google Classroom
  • Google
  • Microsoft Teams

Tips: You can only choose one type of integration. Once you opt for one of the integrations listed above, you must have admins, teachers, and students login to Typing.com the same way. If you don’t login to Typing.com using the chosen method of integration, the student data and teacher account will not be synced and there will be no student progress visible in the district account.

  • Standard username and password
  1. Go to www.typing.com/teacher/signup and create a District account
  2. Add schools to your district account so they have access to the licenses
  3. Invite teachers/school admins to join that school account (teachers/school admins must have a Typing.com teacher account (not school account or district account) in order to accept the invitation to join the district account)

Note: If you see the error message “You can’t invite this teacher because s/he already exist in another district” please email support@typing.com and we will fix the error for you

  4. Teachers will have to create classes and add students. (link to create classes and link to add students)
  5. The students need to go to www.typing.com/student/login and log in with their login credentials. As soon as they log in, the students will get a license assigned to them and their accounts will become PLUS, ad-free accounts.

*If the district admin wants access to the student data in order to pull reports, s/he must add himself/herself as a co-teacher for all the classes. Here is a link that explains how to do that.
